AS TOURIST numbers continue to lag post-pandemic expectations, indoor skydiving operator iFly Singapore hopes that artificial intelligence (AI) can boost its takings from existing customers.
Tourist arrivals from China in particular are still far from pre-pandemic levels, iFly chief executive officer Lawrence Koh told The Business Times. In 2019, Chinese tourists made up some 40 per cent of iFly’s customers; this year, they are expected to account for about 20 per cent.
According to Singapore Tourism Board (STB) data, some 1.1 million people from China visited Singapore in the first 10 months of the year, down from about 3.1 million in the same period of 2019.
