Levelling the field for women entrepreneurs

IT IS without a doubt that women are essential to the economy. Fostering female entrepreneurship and empowering women to join the workforce has many positive outcomes, ranging from boosting income equality and productivity, reducing poverty to diversifying a country's economy. Most importantly, it supports the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for a better and more sustainable future for everyone.

Achieving these goals by 2030, however, won't be possible if we rely on governments alone to address the global issues and challenges. A successful sustainable development agenda requires partnerships between governments, academia, civil society and the private sector.

Only by joining forces we can bring progress, and in the case of women empowerment, support women entrepreneurs and drive inclusion within companies and the marketplace, which in return will lead to economic growth.
