SMALL and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have played an important role in Singapore's economy.
With an estimated 260,000 in the country (according to the Department of Statistics Singapore), on average they generate employment of circa 10 workers per organisation.
The contribution of this segment to the country's GDP is around 3.1 per cent yet, in spite of this, the SME segment continues to be underserved and faces many challenges.
