KICKING off with the SkillsFuture Forum on Tuesday (Jul 5), this year’s SkillsFuture Festival runs till Aug 14 and features more than 100 events such as roadshows and workshops, for working adults, businesses, students and the general public.

Education Minister Chan Chun Sing Sing will launch the festival and give an opening speech as guest-of-honour at Tuesday morning’s SkillsFuture Forum on “Making Upskilling Work: By The Workplace, For The Workplace”. Organised by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and supported by The Business Times and SPH Media, the virtual forum looks at how the government supports companies and employees in their learning journeys.

Held by SSG, the festival will feature a mix of physical and hybrid events. The physical SkillsFuture Roadshow at Suntec City from Jul 8 to 10, for example, provides information on in-demand sectors, career and training opportunities, as well as various SkillsFuture initiatives for upskilling.

Other physical events providing career advice and information on employment opportunities include the SSG and Workforce Singapore Jobs and Skills fair from Aug 5 to 7, and the SkillsFuture Festival x NTUC Jobs and Skills Roadshow from Jul 15 to 17.

For those interested in the digital economy, the SkillsFuture Festival CodeFuture event from Jul 29 to Aug 1 will highlight such jobs and training opportunities, with workshops on how to develop mobile apps. The hybrid Design for the Future Economy event on Jul 23, held by the Singapore University of Technology and Design, will share skills and training opportunities in design innovation and digitalisation.

Heartland residents can learn about jobs and skills in the care, digital and green economies, and attend workshops and webinars on skills upgrading, at Community Development Council events such as SkillsFuture @ North West from Aug 13 to 14.
