Online materials assessment tool aims to reduce plastic use

A WEB tool developed by the World Wide Fund for Nature Singapore (WWF-Singapore) aims to help businesses better understand and select more environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic packaging.

The Alternative Materials Tool (AMT) launched on Sept 4, analyses and compares non-plastic packaging alternatives, based on each material's environmental impact throughout its life cycle. This includes raw material extraction, manufacturing and distribution, and consumption and disposal, down to the specific waste management systems in the country of use.
