IN partnership with Singapore Centre for Social Enterprises, raiSE, PayPal has rolled out several initiatives to help small businesses and social enterprises with their digital transformation.

According to PayPal, processing fees for participating social entrepreneurs for a select period will be waived. Small merchants and social enterprises will also be spotlighted on PayPal's website, increasing the reach of these organisations to Singaporean consumers who shop with PayPal.

An online workshop aimed at enabling small merchants and social enterprises to expand their reach will be held. The workshop will aim to empower entrepreneurs with skillsets that enable them to pivot their business models for success in the new digital economy.

PayPal will also encourage their global employees to shop from small merchants, including participating social entrepreneurs based in Singapore that sell internationally.

Previously, PayPal had introduced the SME Business Challenge, which helped SMEs digitalise their journeys, and involved PayPal experts and partners working closely together with business owners to co-develop customised solutions to specific business problems.

This enabled SMEs to gain exposure to digital concepts and platforms that they could adopt in areas such as e-commerce, social media and digital payments, PayPal said.
