SOME Singapore businesses with a presence in Taiwan are feeling the ripples from a partial lockdown in the territory, which was previously a haven from Covid-19 but is now threatened by a surge in cases, a drought and power shortages.
Leonard Lim, chief executive at thermal sensor maker Omnisense Systems, said the company had enjoyed almost uninterrupted operations in Taiwan for the past year. "It was a blessing, as the rest of the world was under lockdown but we were in full operation," he recalled.
