Traditional sports media agency aims to professionalise e-sports

YIP Renkai and Mark Chew - the founders of local sports media rights agency Reddentes Sports - never imagined that they would end up being active in the world of e-sports, having spent years in the traditional sports scene.
"To be very frank, we didn't really believe in e-sports, we can share that very openly," said 44-year-old Chew.
This perception changed after they went to watch a Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) tournament in Jakarta in 2018, which had a crowd of about 6,000 following the action on the mobile-based electronic game.
