What is the Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme?
THE Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) has helped Singapore manufacturers - typically SMEs that specialise in smart devices - gain a competitive advantage.
The multi-level labelling scheme, launched in 2020, has been providing security ratings for consumer Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
CLS was first introduced to cover Wi-Fi routers and smart home hubs because of their wider usage and the impact that a compromise of these products could have on users. But it has since been extended to include all categories of consumer IoT devices including IP cameras, smart door locks, smart lights and smart printers.
