Camel brand owner is nuts about digitalisation
Seng Hua Hng, a 40-year-old family business, finds it is more efficient and nimble after banking on technology.
STACKS of company documents - generated manually by its employees - sit high inside Seng Hua Hng Foodstuff's office on Defu Lane.
These employees also make frequent trips to the warehouse, as the local nut manufacturer, which owns household brand Camel Nuts, does not have a system that churns out inventory data from its warehouse in real time.
But soon, all these will be a thing of the past as the family business of 40 years gears up to digitise its business operations.
"We have tonnes of files sitting around and (we do) a lot of manual data entry, it's not efficient at all," acknowledged Seng Hua Hng's director Poh Shih Yin.
