Going the distance with bioenergy
Despite its success over the past few years, Apeiron is not resting on its laurels: It seeks to be a manufacturer and leader in the bioenergy sphere and further expand overseas
APEIRON means infinite in Greek, and is an apt inspiration for Chris Chen and Richard Huang, the founders of Apeiron Agrocommodities. This state of infinity refers to the unlimited and boundless potential of renewable and green energy - a space that Apeiron functions in - as it grows to become one of Singapore's leading bioenergy trading firms.
From renewable feedstocks used in the production of biodiesel to biomass which can be converted into energy, Apeiron trades just about every bioenergy commodity it can get access to. Founded in 2007, Apeiron is one of the most reputable companies in the bioenergy industry, offering high-quality products, excellent customer service and persistent credibility.
Mr Chen credits his company's growth to its first-mover advantage and leap of faith into the then-emerging bioenergy sphere. Taking the path less travelled, it was not all smooth sailing for Mr Chen as an entrepreneur. Previously a proprietary trader that specialised in paper trading, Mr Chen undertook a "step-by-step" approach when dealing with his clients. Resistance was rife from his family and friends, but his persistence paid off eventually.
