BEING the bridge between China and Asean is a key focus for Green Link Digital Bank (GLDB), said its chairman Geng Jing. GLDB is one of two wholesale digital banks in Singapore, the other being ANext Bank, which caters to commercial customers. GLDB focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The SME clientele at GLDB comes mainly from four segments: suppliers engaged in contracts with the Singapore government, the commodities and trading business, infrastructure suppliers and tech companies including startups.

Since its official launch in October last year, GLDB has approved about S$50 million in loans so far, the bulk of which is to SMEs. The bank has declined to provide numbers on how many customers it currently has.
