Budget 2022: Renewed push for digital innovation seen as a plus
COMPANIES are welcoming the government's greater support for digitalisation in this year's Budget, especially as the pandemic has forced many to step up investments in tech and skills upgrading.
In his Budget speech on Friday (Feb 18), Finance Minister Lawrence Wong announced an additional S$200 million over the next few years to boost schemes that build digital capabilities.
For instance, the Advanced Digital Solutions (ADS) initiative under the Infocomm Media Development Authority will have an expanded scope. Launched in 2020, the scheme promotes the adoption of advanced integrated solutions, such as in robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT).
