HOTEL management and booking platform RedDoorz, known for its brand of budget hotels in South-east Asia, has entered the midscale hotel segment of three stars and above.
Its new chain of hotels will be branded "Sunerra Hotels", with the first hotel launched last week in a business district in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Rooms at Sunerra hotels will typically start at S$35 a night, said RedDoorz's chief operating officer Kelvin Teo told reporters at a briefing. Each property will have over 100 rooms with an average size of 24 square metres (sq m), with between two and four categories of rooms.
