    THESE South-east Asian tech deals made headlines in the past week:

    1. GIC leads funding round in Brazil-based fintech Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC is leading a 300 million reais (S$74.4 million) funding round in Brazilian financial startup Warren.

    The brokerage and asset manager aims to use the proceeds to invest in technology. It also plans to double its assets under management to 10 billion reais this year.

    2. Temasek invests US$120m in India's UpGrad Temasek Holdings has invested US$120 million in edtech major UpGrad Education in its first-ever round of external funding.

    The Mumbai-based startup said it intended to use the capital proceeds to further strengthen its team, scale its global market operations, bolster its technology and product capabilities, as well as pursue merger and acquisition opportunities.

    3. Sunseap expands in Japan with help from investors Sunseap Group is set to invest in projects in Japan on the back of investments from three Japanese corporations in its latest Series E funding round.

    The new investors are global trading and business investment company Sumitomo Corporation, regional power company Shikoku Electric Power Company and financial services company Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company (SMFL).

    4. Temasek co-leads US$30m funding in agricultural drone startup Chinese agricultural drone startup EAVision Technologies has raised US$30 million in a Series C funding round led by Temasek, Chinese state-sponsored fund Citic and venture capital firm Bits x Bites.

    The funds will be used for research and development, and accelerating market expansion in China and overseas.

    The company's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology is developed by a team of computer vision engineers that includes former Tesla employees. It can be used to navigate challenging environments, such as farms in the mountainous regions of China.
