DELIVEROO and Gojek inked a partnership on Tuesday (Aug 1) to offer new benefits and savings for their users, such as discounts on rides and food delivery.

As part of the partnership, the food-delivery and ride-hailing platforms will work on these initiatives to boost customer loyalty and create opportunities for their drivers and riders.

“By collaborating across ride-hailing and food-delivery services, not only are we able to bring additional value and exciting new benefits to customers, but this partnership will also help to provide increased earnings opportunities for our driver-partners,” said Lien Choon Luen, general manager of Gojek Singapore.

With this collaboration, users of Deliveroo Plus Gold – Deliveroo’s highest subscription tier – will receive two 20 per cent Gojek discount vouchers every month while Gojek’s passengers can receive S$8 worth of Deliveroo vouchers if they book eight rides in a month.

The platforms are also looking at exploring other areas for collaboration – community engagement and sustainability.

“We have identified these synergies with Gojek as we work towards our mutual goal of providing convenience, value and the best service to our partners who keep us fed and get us where we need to go,” said Jason Parke, general manager of Deliveroo Singapore.

This move comes after Grab announced the acquisition of Singapore’s third-largest taxi company, Trans-cab. While the deal is still subject to regulatory approval, it has signalled Grab’s intention to alleviate its driver shortage and temper its path to profitability.
