HEALTHTECH startup Doctor Anywhere has raised US$65.7 million in a Series C funding round led by growth equity investor Asia Partners. Other investors in the round include Novo Holdings, Philips and OSK-SBI Venture Partners.
The funding round brings the total funds raised by Doctor Anywhere to more than S$140 million. Existing investors also participated in the round, including EDBI (the investment arm of Singapore's Economic Development Board), Square Peg, IHH Healthcare, Kamet Capital and Pavilion Capital.
Oliver Rippel, co-founder and partner of Asia Partners, and Amit Kakar, senior partner and head of Novo Holdings Equity Asia, will join the board of directors.
The startup provides telemedicine services by connecting users with general practitioners, specialists, mental health experts and allied health professionals. It also provides home-based healthcare services including health surveillance, vaccinations and Covid-19 swab tests.
Doctor Anywhere said the number of paid transactions on its platform grew at least three times year-on-year to almost 1 million over the past year.
It has close to 2,800 doctors and medical professionals within its network in the region, and it also works with major hospitals and healthcare institutions.
Doctor Anywhere also operates an online marketplace for health and wellness products, as well as physical clinics and pharmacy chains.
The company's service is currently available in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. Doctor Anywhere also recently announced the establishment of regional tech hubs in Bangalore, India, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The latest investment will allow the Singapore-based group, founded in 2017, to expand into new markets and improve its technology.
"Doctor Anywhere is becoming a true regional leader in omnichannel healthcare, following the proven regionalisation playbook of South-east Asia's first generation of internet platform companies. The powerful combination of telehealth and offline care is deeply compelling to payers, providers and patients across our region of 650 million people," said Kien T Nguyen, a co-founder of Asia Partners.
