East Ventures appoints ex-Temasek exec as managing partner
INDONESIA-FOCUSED venture capital firm East Ventures has appointed former Temasek executive Koh Wai Kit as managing partner.
He joined East Ventures as venture partner in February 2021. He was on the founding team of Pavilion Capital, a Temasek-owned company focused on Asian private equity and venture capital.
At Pavilion, Koh spearheaded investments in China, Japan, Korea and South-east Asia, including in tech unicorns such as Gojek, Didi, Xiaohongshu, Toss and freee.
Before Pavilion Capital, Koh was in investment, strategy and portfolio management functions at Temasek.
In 2021, he founded and was the chief executive of fund-management platform 137 Capital Partners, says his LinkedIn profile.
Koh has bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
