EDTECH startup Cialfo has secured US$40 million in a Series B round led by Square Peg and Australia-headquartered SEEK Investments. Existing investors including SIG Global, Vulcan Capital, DLF Venture, January Capital and Lim Teck Lee also joined the round.

Cialfo aims to simplify the college application process and has raised US$55 million to date for its expansion.

The startup connects high school students, their counsellors, and their families with over 1,000 colleges. It said it has a "trusted partner status" with universities such as Imperial College London, The University of Chicago and IE University in Spain.

Among the enhancements planned for Cialfo's platform this year is Direct Apply, a tool that allows students and counsellors to seamlessly apply, track and send documents to hundreds of programmes globally using a single application form.

Chief executive and co-founder Rohan Pasari said the fresh funds raised will allow Cialfo to examine potential acquisitions and expand its offerings.

The company has over 170 employees across Singapore, India, the US and China.
