FastCo launches flexi-work recruitment app in Singapore

Published Wed, Feb 16, 2022 · 12:20 PM

FASTCO, best known for its blue-collar job portal FastJobs, has launched a freelance work platform in Singapore to connect gig workers and employers.

The application, called FastGig, aims to reduce headcount constraints and labour shortages for businesses in the manual, service and semi-skilled segments, especially during seasonal peaks.

The platform lists businesses verified by FastCo including NTUC FairPrice, Domino's Pizza Singapore and Phoon Huat.

"Leveraging on the solid foundation of FastJobs, we have created a robust platform that will allow for greater job flexibility for both workers and businesses," said Julian Tan, founder and chief executive of FastCo in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 16).

FastGig also provides administrative services to businesses by processing gig worker payments and timesheets.

Instead of businesses having to process individual payments to the workers, they would pay FastGig a lump sum on a regular basis to pay out wages, it said.

Workers who complete shifts within the 7-day week are paid by the platform directly to their bank accounts in the following week.

FastGig was piloted at the end of 2021 and currently has 2000 workers who have picked up shifts, as well as 10,000 registered users on the platform, it said.

Users can select job listings on the app via available locations and time slots on a day-to-day basis. If a user does not show up for work, FastGig has a built-in feature to push out shifts urgently.
