AC VENTURES has announced that Alan Hellawell has joined the venture capital (VC) firm as senior advisor and venture partner.
Hellawell was formerly the chief strategy officer at Sea and was part of the team that brought the company public on the New York Stock Exchange. After leaving Sea in November 2018, he has also taken other roles like venture partner at VC firm Alpha JWC.
“AC Ventures continues to invest into adding more value to our portfolio through building our resources and partnering with passionate and talented people. Alan’s vast experience and valuable relationships will greatly help our founders as they scale their businesses,” said Adrian Li, founder and managing partner, AC Ventures.
With over 20 years of experience with Asian startups, Hellawell has known and worked with AC Ventures partners Li and Pandu Sjahrir.
“I have known the partners for more than 15 years. I have worked with every one of the GPs (general partners) across a number of activities, and I am convinced that AC Ventures is Indonesia’s most visionary and globally-minded venture capital firm,” said Hellawell.
