Health tech startup Prixa raises US$3m more from MDI Ventures and TPTF
INDONESIAN health tech startup Prixa has raised an additional US$3 million in funding, led by MDI Ventures and the Trans-Pacific Technology Fund (TPTF).
The company will use the funding to scale its platform and user base, while supporting its B2B (business-to-business) customer base. Its platform enables users to connect directly with primary-care services, including medical tele-consultations, pharmacy delivery and on-demand laboratory testing.
Prixa, founded in 2019, started out as an artificial intelligence-based health-management platform, delivering telemedicine and other basic primary-care services for healthcare payers, which include insurance companies, corporates and government entities.
It now serves about 10 million users comprising a growing network of insurance and corporate members
Prixa chief executive and co-founder James Roring said: "There exists a dichotomy in healthcare in that there's constant innovation in the advanced treatment of patients, but access to basic healthcare services continues to lag, particularly in Indonesia.
He added that Prixa's platform was engineered to access the most basic of healthcare services through its technology. The startup is leveraging this tech to drive a reduction in healthcare costs.
