SWIPERX, formerly known as mClinica Pharmacy Solutions, has raised US$27 million in equity and borrowings.
The Series B round was led by Indonesia’s MDI Ventures, with participation from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, Susquehanna International Group and existing investors.
The latest funds will be used to further accelerate their growth across South-east Asia with a focus on Indonesia.
SwipeRx’s digital platform connects pharmacies in South-east Asia, where many operate as largely fragmented mom-and-pop shops that have yet to digitise.
Its network of pharmacies have access to online education and drug information, and are provided with a forum to communicate with each other.
SwipeRx connects its members in a digital purchasing network so small pharmacies can benefit from the cost-savings of bulk purchases. Financing options are provided to them as well.
