Lazada Singapore taps S$50m funding to roll out 9% daily cashback scheme
LAZADA has launched a rebate scheme that provides Singapore shoppers with 9 per cent cashback on eligible purchases, every day throughout 2022.
Shoppers will receive up to S$20 cashback per order for over 600,000 eligible items across various categories, including electronics, home, lifestyle, health and beauty, said Lazada in a press statement on Friday (Feb 18).
Lazada will work with partners to identify more products that consumers want for everyday use, including groceries and daily essentials, said a company spokesperson.
The rebate scheme, called Everyday Cashback, taps on S$50 million previously pooled by the e-commerce platform. Lazada said it commits the funds to providing relief to Singapore shoppers experiencing rising inflation and the global increase in food prices.
Loh Wee Lee, chief executive officer of Lazada Singapore, said: "As e-commerce becomes the norm for consumer spending, we recognise our responsibility in helping to cushion price hikes, and help households lower their expenses."
Lazada Singapore launched another savings scheme last year - funded by this S$50 million - called LazCoins programme. It allows shoppers to redeem vouchers or free gifts on the platform.
