ALEXIS Lanternier has stepped down as chief executive officer of Lazada Singapore, with Lazada veteran James Chang taking over at the helm, The Business Times (BT) has learnt. Mr Chang was formerly group chief cross-border officer, where he was responsible for the development of cross-border strategy while based in Singapore. A source close to the company told BT that the change in appointment was announced to staff during a townhall session on Dec 14, a day after the firm publicly said that group chief executive officer Lucy Peng will step down and cede her role to six-year Lazada veteran Pierre Poignant.
But Lazada repeatedly denied the change in appointment of its Singapore CEO then, in response to multiple queries from BT.
