MALAYSIA-HEADQUARTERED RPG Commerce has obtained US$29 million funding in a Series B round led by East Ventures, UOB Venture Management, Vertex Ventures South-east Asia & India and RHL Ventures.
The funds raised will be used to expand the social e-commerce startup’s talent pool and enhance the startup’s technological capabilities, said co-founder and chief executive Melvin Chee in a press statement on Wednesday (Jun 22).
The company will also develop and expand its brand portfolio, which includes direct-to-consumer (DTC) apparel and homeware brands like Thousand Miles, Bottoms Lab, Montigo, Cosmic Cookware and more.
RPG Commerce was founded in 2017 and currently has over 100 employees in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and the Philippines. It operates on an end-to-end business model where it owns the development, production and delivery processes of its brands’ products.
The company is also looking at incubation programmes and acquisitions to expand its range of consumer-centric products across different verticals.
