MORE private equity investors in Asia are sourcing their own deals and making direct investments, venturing into territory traditionally dominated by the General Partners (GPs) of funds, said panellists at the DealStreetAsia PE-VC Summit on Tuesday.

The entry of the investors, otherwise known as Limited Partners (LPs), into the GP arena could intensify competition for deals. But it also presents opportunities to work together on co-investments that benefit both parties, the panellists added.
