MP Tin Pei Ling joins fintech firm after 7 months at Grab
LESS than two months after leaving Grab, Member of Parliament Tin Pei Ling has joined DCS Card Centre, formerly known as Diners Club Singapore, as its managing director of strategic partnership and business development.
In a LinkedIn post on Monday (Oct 2) evening, she wrote: “Today’s my first day at work and it’s been great! I will focus on establishing strategic partnerships to reinforce our position as a leading and innovative player in the payment landscape, and on driving future market expansion.”
She added that it is “exciting” as she can now play a more active role in the “commercial and strategic side of business”, and in an industry that she had been “watching with interest”.
She also noted that DCS is transforming and aiming to revolutionise traditional finance through fintech partnerships, and to create seamless connections between Web2 and Web3 payment solutions.
Tin’s move follows a seven-month stint at Grab, where she was director of corporate development.
Her appointment there initially drew backlash when she joined as director of public affairs and policy; concerns were raised about the potential conflict of interest in having an MP serve as the tech company’s government liaison.
