Ninja Van slashes more tech roles in second round of layoffs
The latest cuts, among its junior roles in its Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore offices, follow a round in April that had affected its tech division here
NINJA Van’s latest round of job cuts has mostly hit junior roles across its tech offices in Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as 5 per cent of junior tech roles in Singapore.
The logistics startup announced the cuts at a compulsory meeting called for tech staff on Monday (Jul 1). A source said that the headcounts in all tech departments were slashed; after the meeting, affected employees received calendar invites to be told the news.
This is the second round of layoffs, following an internal review, said a spokesperson for Ninja Van. “Unfortunately, despite our efforts to minimise impact, we were unable to avoid layoffs impacting 5 per cent of our colleagues in Singapore,” said the spokesperson.
