DIGITAL banking platform Revolut on Thursday (Aug 25) announced it has appointed Raymond Ng as its new Singapore chief executive officer (CEO) to accelerate business growth in the country, it said in a press statement.

Ng joins Revolut from Liquid Group, a payment network company, where he was chief commercial officer in the Asia-Pacific region, overseeing product and business development and global expansion.

He previously held positions at Microsoft, Visa, Mastercard and other tech startups, and has more than 20 years of experience in the mobile, payment and travel tech sectors.

In his new role, Ng will lead and build Revolut’s expansion plans in Singapore and develop and implement the fintech company’s local business strategy. This follows Revolut’s recent launch of crypto products in Singapore.

In April, Revolut received in-principle approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore to provide digital payment token services under the Major Payment Institution licence.

Nik Storonsky, CEO and Founder at Revolut, said: “With a wealth of experience in the mobile, payment and travel tech sectors and an outstanding track record in scaling the business across new markets in the APAC region, Raymond is an excellent fit for the role and his appointment is a major achievement in our continued mission to become the world’s first truly global financial superapp.”
