SINGAPORE'S Land Transport Authority (LTA) has converted Ryde Technologies' existing provisional licences for point-to-point services to a full ride-hail service operator licence and a full car pool service operator licence.
Both licences are valid for 3 years. The move comes after the ride-hailing service provider demonstrated in the past year that it is able to meet LTA's regulatory standards for full licences, the latter said in a press statement on Thursday.
Other operators which have been awarded a full ride-hail service operator licence include Grab, Gojek, TADA and ComfortDelGro. The only other operator that has a car pool service operator licence is Grab.
Ryde was awarded a 1-year provisional ride-hailing licence and car-pool licence on Oct 30 last year. This allowed the company to provide ride-hail services and car pool services while improving its operational capabilities in order to meet LTA's regulatory standards for safety and service provision.
