Seedly co-founders’ new healthtech startup raises S$1.7m
MITO Health, a startup focusing on personalised health plans using data, has raised S$1.7 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Forge Ventures. Startup founders and executives, including those from Carousell and ShopBack, were among the company’s investors.
Singapore-based Mito Health was founded by Kenneth Lou and Chew Tee-Ming, who co-founded personal finance platform Seedly and exited the company in 2022 after seven years.
Mito’s other co-founders are Joel Kek, a former GovTech engineer who was the tech lead for contact tracing app TraceTogether, and former surgeon and resident Ryan Ware.
The company’s angel investors include ShopBack founders Henry Chan and Joel Leong, Carousell founder Quek Siu Rui, PatSnap founder Jeffrey Tiong, Glints founder Oswald Yeo, Rainforest founder JJ Chai, OhMyHome founder Race Wong, ErgoTune founder Damon Lye, and Singlife’s innovation head Varun Mittal.
“With an ageing population and an increasing emphasis on healthy years, preventative healthcare is becoming more pertinent,” said Foo Tiang Lim, general partner at Forge Ventures.
Mito Health uses a person’s diagnostic results and wearable data to build personalised plans for individuals keen on looking beyond annual health check-ups and supplements to maintain their health.
