AS regional e-commerce develops in the next three to five years, merchants are likely to become more sophisticated and consumers will crave immersive user experiences, said Shopee's chief commercial officer Zhou Junjie. To this end, the company is pouring money and effort into ramping up user engagement and hiring more tech talent to improve features on its e-commerce platform.
Mr Zhou was speaking to The Business Times at the opening of Shopee's new headquarters at Science Park, which has an office space of 244,000 sq ft and can house up to 3,000 staff. Shopee currently employs over 1,000 people.
