Old-school sectors could benefit from S$1b in funding platform
But some observers are calling for the scheme to reach out to larger SMEs in need of more support to scale up

LARGE Local Enterprises (LLEs) hit by cautious sentiment in the private equity (PE) market - especially those in traditional sectors such as retail and manufacturing - could gain a boost from a new funding platform equipped with S$1 billion from the government and state investor Temasek, industry observers said.
But some are calling for the scheme to uplift the "sandwiched" class of mid-sized companies as well.
