WeWork launches drive to support South-east Asia's startup ecosystem
WEWORK has launched its Growth Campus initiative in key cities of South-east Asia, including Singapore, and aims to support the region's startup ecosystem.
The co-working space operator said on Tuesday that the initiative includes close to US$8 million of investment in subsidised spaces, mentorship and education.
Members of Growth Campus will have complimentary access to the WeWork Labs service, which offers "virtual acceleration support". This includes online access to mentoring and coaching opportunities, customised educational programming, a global network and member community, and member benefits and discounts.
Growth Campus was launched in the UK in February this year. WeWork said the initiative is open to start-ups and scaleups, accelerators and incubators, investors of all sizes, and corporates with an innovation agenda.
Monica Wulff, head of WeWork Labs in Australia, South-east Asia and South Korea, said: "As economic recovery evolves across the region, we can expect more companies to emphasise workspace strategy to advance productivity, collaboration and creativity.
"Through subsidised workspace, virtual mentoring, customised education and access to our global network of members, we can provide more to help startups grow and kickstart (the startup) sector."
