ASX-listed Dreamscape Networks acquires Singapore's Webserver.sg

ASX-listed tech firm Dreamscape Networks is acquiring Singapore's Webserver.sg for S$460,000 as part of its plans to expand across South-east Asia.

This follows the domain registration, hosting and online solutions provider's acquisition of top Singapore domain registration and web hosting company Vodien Internet Solutions for A$29.67 million (S$31.16 million).

Webserver.sg Pte Ltd was the web hosting and domain division of NewMedia Express until May this year, when it began operating as an independent company under the Webserver name. It has about 3,644 customers across domains and hosting.

Gavin Gibson, chief operations officer of Dreamscape Networks, said: "Since listing on the ASX in December 2016, Dreamscape Networks has acquired the four best small independent operators in Australia, as well as Vodien Internet Solutions in Singapore. These acquisitions allow us to further grow our market presence, and in particular Webserver's acquisition allows us to extend our reach and accelerate out in Singapore and across South-east Asia."

Dreamscape chief executive officer Mark Evans said that the group's focus for FY19 will see more activity in South-east Asia through the leveraging of the Vodien brand and infrastructure, as well as growing the Crazy Domains brand within the region. Crazy Domains is an Australian domain provider.

Mr Evans added: "Strategic partnerships remain a key growth strategy in Australia and into South-east Asia where we have recently commenced co-marketing campaigns with PayPal in Asia, with Australia to follow.

"We have also partnered with Devcon, a developer community in the Philippines which sees us teaming up with students, educators, web professionals as well as fresh graduates within our industry."

Dreamscape last month completed its move into its new corporate headquarters in Singapore.
