China publishes innovation action plan

    CHINA’S technology and finance ministries on Monday (Aug 15) published an action plan to encourage innovation, seeking to guide companies towards areas in line with national needs.

    Platform companies, for example, will be encouraged to focus on hard technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Finance said in a statement, referring to a term that generally covers areas such as semiconductors and new energy. REUTERS
