COVID-19 has reinforced the belief that research and development "has to be the long game", said A*Star chief executive Frederick Chew at a virtual panel discussion on Wednesday.
The response of Singapore's biomedical community to the pandemic is the result of decades of investment, collaboration and experience in tackling other infectious diseases, he said.
