Greater digitisation 'could increase cybersecurity risk for aviation sector'

THE growing digitisation of the aviation sector may increase the risk of hacking opportunities, industry watchers say.
Risks include modernised air traffic control systems with increased "openness" to various networks and the Internet, inflight entertainment and wi-fi connectivity systems as well as electronic flight bags. The latter refer to tablet systems used by pilots and flight crew for flight management tasks.
