HP Inc has forecast first-quarter profit that may miss analysts' estimates as personal-computer and printer sales slump, highlighting the challenges facing the standalone business after splitting up with its corporate technology and services arm.
Profit before certain costs in the fiscal first quarter, which ends next January, will be 33-38 US cents a share, HP Inc said on Tuesday in a statement. That fell short of the average analyst estimate for 42 US cents. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (HPE) - the newly formed company that provides servers, services and storage to corporate customers - said profit will be 37-41 US cents a share, compared with an average projection for 44 US cents.
