IDA engages SamKnows to measure consumer Internet performance
SINGAPORE residents can now test the performance of their Internet service providers, after the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) engaged broadband performance analytics firm SamKnows to measure consumer Internet performance.
In a joint announcement on Thursday, both parties invited Singaporeans to join a National Internet Measurement Infrastructure project.
To attract new volunteers, SamKnows is offering free hardware devices known as "whiteboxes" that measure Internet speeds of up to 1Gbps. Volunteers can also download the free mobile app "SamKnows" for access to real-time data and analytics.
Singapore is one of 40 countries using the SamKnows measurement platform.
Those interested in joining the performance trial can register online for their Whitebox here: https://www.samknows.com.sg/
