Micron Tech opens 255,000 sq ft NAND flash memory facility

Company has invested US$4 billion in this expansion, to ramp up production of 3D NAND flash-based memory

    GLOBAL semiconductor company Micron Technology has opened its largest NAND flash memory fabrication facility here, to ramp up production of 3D NAND flash-based memory for use in laptops, smartphones, servers, cameras and other upcoming technologies, by the end of the year.

    The 255,000 square foot facility is an expansion of its current one at North Coast Drive, and is one of four facilities here operated by the American company.
