Microsoft Office for iPad available to S'pore users

SINCE last Friday, iPad users in Singapore have been able to download for free the Microsoft Office app from the app store. The app allows users to view and present their documents on Word, presentation slides on Powerpoint and spreadsheets on Excel. However, a subscription is required to edit and create new documents.

Users with a 365 subscription can add the iPad as one of the chosen devices among the five tablets and five PCs and Macs that can be installed with Microsoft Office to create and edit their files on the device. Prices for a 365 subscription varies, with the Microsoft Office Home Premium edition available locally for $138.

Along with the full file fidelity across Office on PC, Mac, tablet and phone, Office for iPad and Office Mobile come with cloud storage from OneDrive or OneDrive for Business to ensure that files are kept up to date. Office for iPad apps are also designed with consideration of the iPad's touch functionality to create a tailored, but still familiar Office experience for iPad users, said a Microsoft spokesman.
