Open source cloud gaining momentum in Asia
THE strong momentum of OpenStack in the Asia-Pacific region in 2013 was one development that took Rackspace Asia-Pacific CTO Alan Perkins by surprise and, with it, he is expecting to see increased adoption of open source cloud initiatives in the region.
Speaking to BizIT, Mr Perkins shared two industry developments that he was happy about in 2013. The first was the growing maturity in the region with regard to thinking about cloud computing deployments.
"It's gone from what is cloud computing, to what can the cloud do for me (and my company)," he said.
