Option of paying bus, train fares via cellphone takes off
The payment method is also available at over 30,000 ez-link acceptance points across the island

COMMUTERS will now be able to pay for their public transport fares with just a tap of their mobile phones, the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and EZ-Link Pte Ltd announced on Tuesday.
Those who have a compatible mobile phone with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology - there are 19 such phones including models from LG, Samsung and Sony - and who purchase a new NFC transit SIM card from their telcos will be able to pay for not just their public transport rides, but also at more than 30,000 ez-link acceptance points across the island.
