POLITICS was the talk of the world this year, with the US presidential election taking top spot in Facebook's 2016 Year in Review, a list of the year's most talked-about global topics on the social networking platform that was published on Friday.
Brazilian politics came in second - an unsurprising result given the political bloodletting in the country, which in September saw the impeachment of its president, Dilma Rousseff.
