Singapore firms working on smart chips for IoT

An estimated 30b devices will be wirelessly connected to the Internet of Things patchwork by 2020

[SINGAPORE] As we approach the dawn of the Internet of Things (IoT), some of Singapore's top tech firms are working on researching ways to put the island state on the global map.

The Internet of Things is a concept that refers to the set of sensors and devices out there in the world, all connected to the Web in some form or other. The concept was coined more than a decade ago, but is now starting to gather momentum because of the wireless connectivity built into more and more devices today.
