China: Shares higher in morning trade

[SHANGHAI] Chinese shares were slightly higher in Wednesday morning trading on buying of financial shares, as investors awaited the release of domestic economic data, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.32 per cent, or 10.39 points, to 3,296.46.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.11 per cent, or 1.84 points, to 1,693.82.
