China: Stocks slightly higher in morning trade

[SHANGHAI] Chinese shares were moderately higher on Friday morning, as the impact of government measures to support the market persisted, dealers said.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.22 per cent, or 8.24 points, to 3,831.42.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.65 per cent, or 13.64 points, to 2,100.16.
