Europe: Equities clamber higher at open

[LONDON] Europe's stock markets edged upwards at the open on Thursday, with sentiment buoyed after US President Donald Trump unveiled his market-friendly tax cut plans.

In initial trading, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major blue-chip companies was up 0.1 per cent at 7,317.76 points.

In the eurozone, the CAC 40 in Paris also added almost 0.1 per cent to 5,286.05 points, and Frankfurt's DAX 30 won 0.2 per cent to 12,682.37 points compared with the closing level on Wednesday.
